ZENG Xinyi, Los Angeles, Designer, Artist



Xinyi Zeng, a female designer and experimental artist based in Los Angeles. She graduated from the California College of the Arts in MFA Graphic Design and Shanghai Theatre Academy in BA Visual Communication Design. For years, she has immersed herself in the field of design, driven by a passion for all things design, continuously exploring and cultivating excellent aesthetic abilities. Her expertise spans Branding, Communication Design, Design Strategy, Typography, Digital, and Print Media. She believes that creative designs should not only be visually appealing but also effectively communicate a message.

Currently, she collaborates with a friend on various design competitions and takes on design projects as a freelancer for clients.

Her experience in exhibitions and activities included:

At the beginning of 2023, she envisioned and openly sells on OpenSea a series of silicon-based creatures NFT works inspired by the Kremna Prophecy. She refines each creature's detailed description, including name, class, order, family, and habits. During the initial creative phase, she employed the AI technology Midjourney for an overall sketch of the silicon-based planet. She is gradually developing this experimental idea based on the properties of the element silicon and the geography of the outer planets.

In December 2022, her book From a Coffee Bean participated the even of 2022 Small Press Book Bazaar hosted by San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

In June 2020, she accomplished a video installation art “The Story of the Octopus” using projection masking technology to project onto the surface of a foam octopus, intending to raise human awareness about marine environmental pollution. 

In June 2018, she delivered a set of
fabric design
featuring elements of Peking Opera, aiming to break down the barriers between tradition art and contemporary creativity. The work was exhibited in October at the Trans-media Art Exhibition at the 1 Gallery Shanghai, under the sponsorship of the National Art Foundation of China. In December of the same year, the work was also exhibited in a commemorative exhibition dedicated to the renowned Chinese Peking Opera artist Mei Lanfang.

In March 2017, she created a series of
Coca-Cola bottle label
that were exhibited in Yunjian Gallery. In November of the same year, she conceptualized promotional materials for the drama 'The Miser,' including posters, brochures, and pamphlets, among others.  

In May 2016, she designed a flower-shaped logo for the Qiongyao Cultural Fund and was awarded the first prize in the Logo Design Contest for the Qiongyao Cultural Fund. Qiong Yao is a renowned contemporary Chinese author. The foundation was established after Qiong Yao won a lawsuit related to copyright infringement in film and television content. Through this foundation, Qiong Yao hopes to encourage young, original creators and foster an environment of integrity in society.

In November of the same year, she collaborated with her peers to design an optical illusion installation to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Shanghai Theatre Academy. This installation was awarded the Third Group Prize at the Think Youth-Shanghai International Digital Creation, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition, and it received positive feedback from alumni. Some famous alumni, such as Danfeng Zhang, shared a photo with this installation on his social media account.
